Edinboro athletes are honing their game in preparation for the fall season, which starts at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, for the football team at West Liberty, W.Va. Fall may be the most exciting time for sports at Edinboro University, and Sports Information Director Bob Shreve knows that students and locals alike are passionate when it comes to the Fighting Scots. And the football, soccer, volleyball and cross country teams are ready to go.

Art department welcomes students back with Aloha 2010

For the 11th year, the Edinboro University art department will stage Aloha to welcome back students. The event is planned from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, on the lawn outside Loveland Hall. Food, live music, faculty vs. student dodge ball and more are on tap.

GM, EUP open school year Monday

If you want a chicken pattie or hot ham and cheese sandwich -- and you go to General McLane High School -- you're in luck. That's what's on the lunch menu for the first day of classes Monday, Aug. 30, when the school district begins the 2010-11 school year. The academic year also starts Monday at Edinboro University. But lunch choices are up to you.

 

Sportsman League on target with archers

If your heart is all a-quiver for a little bow and arrow action, the Lake Edinboro Sportsman League is offering the 3D Archery Shoot again this summer for all comers. The last target date is Sunday, Sept. 12.
