General McLane students head back to school Aug. 27 By BoroOnline.com staff EDINBORO -- The General McLane School District will start classes on Wednesday, Aug. 27. But teachers will start earlier in the week with in-service days on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 25-26. And freshman orientation will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Then the school district will take a break for Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 1. The first week of school is also filled with scheduled sports events, including: -- Golf team will host a megamatch at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25. -- Girls tennis team will play at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Warren, then at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at McDowell. -- Girls soccer team will play Friday and Saturday, Aug. 29-30, in the Harbor Creek Tournament. -- Boys and girls cross country teams will run at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at the McDowell Invitational. -- Football team will play at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at Veterans Stadium in Erie against St. Vincent. |
