GM faces Vincent in Rematch II

Lancers stop Titusville again, score playoff win in overtime

MILLCREEK (Nov. 12) – The General McLane Lancers made it two in a row, beating a strong Titusville team, 14-7, on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, at McDowell High School.

And it took overtime to nail down the District 10 Class AAA playoff semifinal win.

The victory came as the Lancers (9-2) scored on their first play on offense in the overtime period when senior Bobby Stauffer found 6'4" junior tight end Shawn Walker with a touchdown pass.

Senior Drew Astorino scored General McLane's other touchdown when he broke free and ran 75 yards to the end zone in the first quarter.

GM's win was its second in a row over the Region 5 champions, who ended the season with an 8-3 record. GM edged Titusville in a 28-26 thriller Nov. 3 as McLane's defense stopped the Rockets on the Lancers' 1-yard line as time ran out.
