By Meghan Moeslein/Boro Online

The General McLane Lady Lancers took on Mercyhurst on May 5 and lost 9-3. Julie Gianatiempo had the most hits going three for three. Other team members who recorded a hit were Bre Sauers, Amber Kuntz, Renee Seth and Bre Otteni.

Seth pitched the entire length of the game, striking out seven Mercyhurst players and allowing but one walk.

May10 the Lady Lancer softball team defeated the Central Falcons 14-0. Seth, a junior, pitched the entire five innings, giving up only three hits, striking out six and allowing only two walks. Amanda Kean, senior, went two for three including a triple.

Other hits for the ladies went to Sauers, Seth and Gianatiempo.

"The entire defense had a fine game finishing the game with only one error," said Coach Charlie Hager.

Currently there are three seniors on the Lady Lancer team, and all three will be honored at the May 15 final home game against Strong Vincent. The three seniors are Alyssa Dunn, Amanda Kean and Gianatiempo. The three will be honored before the start of the game.

"Right now only Amanda has solid plans of playing [after high school]. Alyssa is looking
seriously at Slippery Rock and has contacted the coach," said Hager.

On May 17 the Lady Lancers will challenge the Corry team on Corry's home turf.
