PEA 2006 Conference at Indiana University of
Pennsylvania
June 1 (Thursday)
- June 3 (Saturday), 2006
Indiana University
of Pennsylvania
Indiana, PA
| Special Information for International Participants
The Pennsylvania Economic Association (PEA) is pleased
to welcome participants from around the world to its annual conference.
Each year representatives from various countries present at the
conference and enjoy the company of fellow economists.
It is important to note that the PEA will notify you via
email or surface mail that your paper has been accepted for presentation
at the conference. However, the PEA is unable to provide any additional
supporting materials to potential international participants for
purposes of visa acquisition or for making other travel arrangements.
The PEA will not provide additional letters, telephone calls, faxes, or
telegrams in support of visa applications. Your written notification of
the acceptance of your paper for presentation at the conference is the
limit to the association's ability to provide you with supporting
documentation for travel purposes.
Unfortunately, due to a very high cancellation rate from
international applicants in recent years, the association will provide
only provisional acceptance of conference papers until receipt of the
individual's registration fee. This prepayment requirement will be
waived for any international applicant that had previously attended a
PEA conference. |

Notice of Change to the PEA Bylaws
The PEA Officers and Board are recommending approval of changes
to the PEA Bylaws. Members are encouraged to review the proposed changes
in advance of the General Membership Meeting to be held on Saturday, June 3,
2006, at the PEA conference at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. A vote
for approval will take place at this meeting. Please click

CALL FOR PAPERS & POSTERS
The PEA 2006 Conference will
again host professional papers in its concurrent sessions. The
conference also will allow students (undergraduate and graduate) the
opportunity to present research papers in concurrent sessions, or present
their research in a poster board format. A special student poster
session will be scheduled for the display and discussion of student research
posters. Requirements and guidelines for posters may be reviewed
here.
The Pennsylvania Economic
Association also participates with the University of Scranton in offering
the Henry George Essay Competition. The competition is
open to undergraduate students in Pennsylvania; detailed guidelines for this
competition may be found here. The winner of
the essay competition will be presented his or her award at the 2006 PEA
conference.
